The Center for Visual Arts (CVA) Gallery at Brookdale Community College will host “objex.desire,” a solo exhibition by Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern through Feb. 29.
The show includes recent original prints, sculpture and more than two dozen paintings in oil on canvas and oil on linen. The works are inspired by classical Dutch ‘vanitas’ works and feature the juxtaposition of familiar objects that range from traditional to contemporary.
An award-winning artist whose primary medium is oil painting, Ficarelli-Halpern is recipient of a Geraldine Dodge Foundation Grant and has participated in numerous juried solo and group exhibitions. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from New Jersey City University, BFA from Parsons School of Design and served as senior design director for Polo Ralph Lauren Home Collection. She teaches painting and drawing at Brookdale and at New Jersey City University. The CVA Gallery is open 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Admission is free
