Troy Container Line Launches New Service

RED BANK — Troy Container Line, Ltd., one of the world’s largest NVOCCs, has announced the launch of its new service from Chicago to Rotterdam. The direct, 16-day service will begin on Monday, May 21 with a sailing aboard the APL Melbourne V18.
A NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) is a shipment consolidator that does not own any vessel, but functions as a carrier by issuing its own bills of lading and assuming responsibility for all cargo.
The 28-year-old Troy Container Line, located on West Street in Red Bank, does not own container lines on which it transports cargo oversees. The company, however, is responsible for the care of all cargo shipped. To date, Troy works with more than 2,000 customers worldwide to arrange for the import and export of their cargo.
The new Chicago-to-Rotterdam sailing marks the continued expansion of Troy Container Line’s export department, and demonstrates the company’s ongoing charge to add more direct services, reduce transit times, and offer clients the best pricing in the industry.
“Competitive pricing and quick transport times have always distinguished Troy Container Line from its competitors,” said Patricia L. Fitzgerald, chief operating officer of exports. “The Chicago-to-Rotterdam service will continue this tradition, cutting transit times by seven days and reducing costs by at least 5 percent, which, as always, will be passed onto our clients because of their loyal support.
“My staff and I look forward to offering yet another efficient, cost-effective shipping solution to our extensive customer base.”
