AH Chamber Holds Networking
ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – The Atlantic Highlands Chamber of Commerce will hold an end-of-year After Hours Networking Event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, hosted by the Beacon Hill Country Club, 8 Beacon Hill.
The newly renovated country club with spectacular views of the New York City skyline and Sandy Hook Bay will offer businesses and individuals an opportunity to network and enjoy light refreshments in an inviting and warm atmosphere. Beacon Hill will welcome guests with chef choice pass-a-rounds, as well as a buffet station with light fare.
The event is $20 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Cash, checks, credit cards accepted. There will be a cash bar and business casual attire is required.
The business and social community is invited to attend the event during which updates will be presented on Atlantic Highlands and Sandy redevelopment progress. Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable/unbreakable food and household items for the Atlantic Highlands Food Bank. The facility is in need of these items to support victims of Super Storm Sandy.

Shrewsbury Dr. Receives Award
SHREWSBURY – Peter S. Staats, M.D., M.B.A., received the Outstanding Pain Physician Award at the 2012 Pain Medicine Symposium held on Oct. 19 in Jersey City.
Sponsored by the New York and New Jersey chapters of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the event honored Staats, who is internationally renowned for developing and implementing minimally invasive procedures to treat pain disorders.
The award was presented to Staats by Dr. Sudhir Diwan, who is the director of Pain Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell and president of the New York Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Staats is co-founder of Premier Pain Centers (www.premierpain.com), which were established in 2004 with co-founder Scott Metzger, M.D., with locations in Shrewsbury, Manalapan, Brick and East Brunswick.
Staats was the founder of the Division of Pain Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, and was its director for ten years. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a fellow of the World Institute of Pain and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
Staats and his family reside in Colts Neck.
 
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries Opens in RB
RED BANK – Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries is bringing its famous fresh-cut Boardwalk Fries and fresh, made-to-order burgers to the borough.
The chain is set to open its newest location at 20 Broad St. with a grand opening celebration of events from Friday, Nov. 30, through Monday, Dec. 3. The outlet is known for its traditional boardwalk eating experience of fresh-cut Boardwalk Fries with endless dressings, including Old Bay and apple cider vinegar.
The grand opening events will be:
Friday, Nov. 30: Free “fry-day” during which customers will receive free fries with purchase of a sandwich and drink.
Saturday, Dec. 1: Kids Day – CASA Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. when parents will receive one free kids’ platter with a purchase of an adult meal and from 4 to 8 p.m. when Boardwalk is teaming up with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Red Bank for a fundraiser to support CASA. Sunday, Dec. 2: Susan G. Komen Fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. for the kickoff of the month-long event during which 10 percent of all orders from customers who mention the fundraiser through Dec. 30 will be donated back to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Central and South Jersey.
Monday, Dec. 3: There will be a grand opening celebration at 11 a.m. and then from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. customers will get a free single burger with purchase of regular fries and a drink.
The chain’s core menu items include fresh ground beef patties, fresh-cut Boardwalk Fries, grilled chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, salads, and shakes. All sandwiches and fries are made to order with the freshest ingredients.

Two River Bank Kicks Off “Shop Local” Campaign for Sandy Relief
TINTON FALLS – Two River Community Bank officially kicked off its Shop Local Campaign for the second year in a row.
