Good Witch Karyn Jarmer Breaks the Spell
My Kitchen Witch Reopens

“Welcome Home My Kitchen Witch! We have missed you, your delicious food and your friendly staff who always make everyone feel so welcome,” said Monmouth Beach Mayor Sue Howard.
The wait is over. After months of reconstruction and learning more about studs, sheet rock, windows, trim, flooring and building codes than she ever expected, Karyn Jarmer, owner of the beloved My Kitchen Witch restaurant, 29 Beach Road in Monmouth Beach, clicked her heels, broke Sandy’s spell and was back in business on Wednesday, April 3 at 8 a.m.

“We were devastated when we opened the door after Sandy,” says Karyn. “There was water up to the doorknob of the market at the front of the restaurant. Everything had to go, so we took the opportunity to make some great changes. We have a bigger kitchen, I’ve mastered gluten-free French toast, the juice bar will carry more vegan and raw food and … hold on,” Karyn stopped with a witchy grin, “I can’t tell you everything now – you’ll have to just come in and see for yourself.
“We’re so excited to be back in business,” she says. “Every day we’ve been reading texts, email and posts asking when it will be. One person even told us their out-of-town friends wouldn’t visit until we reopen. We will have a grand reopening soon, so keep in touch with us through our website – mykitchenwitch. com – and on our Facebook page, My Kitchen Witch.”
The café and juice bar will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the market, where you can pick up prepared foods, will be open Monday to Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. “As executive chef and owner of My Kitchen Witch,” Karyn continues, “I bring to life my philosophy of food as fun, and I manage to do it in ways that won’t necessarily increase your waistline or shrink your budget. My food is the stuff of our childhood, with a conscience: it’s home-cooked, healthy comfort food.”
