John Andrew Card, 67, of Highlands, passed away on Saturday, June 24 at Lee Memorial Hospital in North Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, John spent most of his life in Highlands.
John was a member of the Highlands Fire department for 39 years where he served as chief in 1983 and 2003. He selflessly, volunteered for the Highlands First Aide for 14 years.
John loved betting on the horses. His pleasant demeanor and joke telling always made one feel loved and brought much laughter. We will carry his memory in our hearts always. John was predeceased by his parents, John “Jack” and Gladys; and his sister, Jane. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Williams) Card; his children, John and Heather; and a grandchild, Jayden.
