FAIR HAVEN  – Fair Haven Day is back with a bang!
Packed with games, activities and fireworks for all, it will be held Saturday, June 14 at Fair Haven Fields on Ridge Road.
“I’m excited that it appears we may have started a wonderful family tradition celebrating the Borough of Fair Haven that began with our 2012 Centennial Celebration,” said Councilwoman Susan Sorenson, who is also president of the Fair Haven Foundation. “Last year, our first actual Fair Haven Day was such a special day for so many that we wanted to continue to celebrate Fair Haven.
“The feeling of community is palpable all day and everyone really enjoys it all with their family and friends,” she said. “We have an exciting new menu, along with some other terrific additions to continue to have another outstanding event.”
The event starts at 3:30 p.m. and ends with fireworks at 9 p.m. It is a family fun event with the “Rec-N-Crew” – members of the Fair Haven recreation department – on hand to keep children entertained with games and activities while their parents relax and enjoy the event.
There will be live music throughout the entire night with the Stone Bullets starting the day off at 3:30 p.m., then Ardvark Smile followed by two of Fair Haven’s own, River Road Band and The Haven.
Local vendors and sponsors will offer food for the event. Brennan’s Deli of Rumson will provide a picnic menu with Brennan’s style sandwiches and salads plus hot dogs. Pricing is one-size-fits-all and is $10 per plate.
Fair Haven resident Doug Douty, owner of Lusty Lobster in Highlands, also will be there with a raw bar option at $5 per serving with a selection of fresh seafood. The Lusty Lobster Roll can be purchased with three tickets ($15).
Fair Haven’s Booskerdoo will provide dessert with homemade ice cream sandwiches. For an additional cost, there will also be a beer and sangria garden for participants of age, starting at 5 p.m.
There were be a small allotment of tickets available on the day of the event but tickets can be purchased at borough hall.
The rain date will be Saturday, June 21.
