Frank John Wrublewski of Palm City, Florida, formerly of Linden and Fair Haven, died Sept. 5, 2023, at the age of 102. Frank passed away at home with his children after a stroke. Of his brothers and sister, he was the last surviving child.

Frank was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Linden. He enlisted in the Navy in 1939 during World War II and was discharged as a Chief Petty Officer in 1945. After the Navy, Frank attended Rutgers University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1949. He married “the girl next door,” Dorothy Sofie Sweet, May 8, 1949.

Frank worked for the Army Research and Development Group on Fort Monmouth for 27 years as an electronics engineer. After a few months of retirement, he went back to work for Avionics Instrument in Carteret for 10 years. Frank Dorothy retired to Lighthouse Point in Palm City Florida in 1988.

Frank enjoyed his career as an electronics engineer immensely. He had a strong work and family ethic, and was always busy, never sitting still. He loved sailing and fishing throughout his lifetime. His biggest regret was not taking up the game of golf until later in life, missing the opportunity to play with his brothers, Adam and Zeke.

Frank was preceded in death by Dorothy, his wife of 58 years, who passed away in 2007. He is survived and remembered by his children, Andy Wrublewski, Frances Wrublewski Smetana and her husband Paul, and Mary Jane Wrublewski. He is also survived by four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at The Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. Burial will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
