RED BANK – Since 2017, the JBJ Soul Foundation and JBJ Soul Kitchen have been hosting a Day of Hope Walk to recognize local charitable organizations that do so much to support Monmouth County residents.

On May 14, hundreds of volunteers from dozens of nonprofits turned out to walk from Riverside Gardens Park to JBJ Soul Kitchen, raising awareness for their charities and honoring the hard work done every day to meet the diverse needs of the community.

Dorothea Bongiovi, co-founder of JBJ Soul Kitchen, Rev. Terrence K. Porter of Pilgrim Baptist Church and many others addressed the crowd, thanking them for their service to the community and stressing the continued efforts needed. The walk left the park on West Front Street, turned right onto Broad Street and then right onto Monmouth Street before ending at JBJ Soul Kitchen, where refreshments were offered.
