Mary V. Clancy, 86, of Jackson, passed away Nov. 27, 2022. Mary was born July 15, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, New York, a daughter of the late Helen (Kelly) and Walter Reulbach. She lived in New York state as a child then moved to St. Louis, Missouri, during the war, eventually settling in Middletown.

Mary graduated from St. Agnes School in Atlantic Highlands and then Red Bank Catholic High School. She started her career in the municipal office in Middletown. She then went on to be a tax assessor in Jackson and then Beachwood, retiring from East Windsor in 1998.

Mary was very involved with various work organizations. She belonged to the NJ Civil Service Association, the Northeastern Region Association of Assessing Officers, the International Association of Assessing Officers, and the NJ Farmland and NRAAO Committees. She was vice president of CWA Local 1040 in Mount Holly, and the recording secretary and past president of the Monmouth Council #9.

No matter how busy she was with work, Mary always found time to be with her family. She was always involved in her parish community at St. Mary’s. She sang in the choir and volunteered in the school. Mary was also active in her children’s school PTAs. She loved being with her children and then her grandchildren.

Mary also loved traveling, especially trips to Atlantic City and Ireland. She will always be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and her love of music and singing, but mostly for being a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Walter G. and Helen L. Reulbach; her two sons, John and Edward Clancy; her brothers, Walter II and Donald Reulbach; and her grandson Michael Evernham.

Mary is survived by her five children: three daughters, Margaret Evernham, Carole (Will) Yacus, and Elaine (Sam) Mundy; and two sons, Thomas (Anne) Clancy and Pete Clancy. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Megan (Craig), John (Jess), Lauren (TJ), Walter, Chris, Nicole, Elyse, Dave, Alison (Mike), Jennifer (Cory), and Elizabeth; along with nine great-grandchildren, Jameson, Molly, Brooklyn, Colton, Connor, Liam, Caden, Amelia and Annabelle. She leaves behind her daughter-in-law Ruth Clancy and sisters-in-law, Jan Reulbach and Karen Reulbach.

Friends and relatives paid their respects Dec. 4 and 5 at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 5 at St. Catherine’s Church in Middletown. The burial and committal followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
