Michael A. Coppola, 28, of Keansburg, passed away Aug. 10. Michael was born and raised in Keansburg and graduated from Keansburg High School in 2010 alongside his lifelong childhood friends. Michael worked as a server at Chili’s in Holmdel and always enjoyed seeing familiar faces and catching up with old friends. 

Michael struggled with depression after losing his sister Shara in 2011. Through all of his struggles he continued to be a ray of sunshine that lit up the room everywhere he went. His infectious laugh and hilarious sense of humor constantly brought joy to everyone he met. Michael was deeply loved by both family and friends and was sure to show his abundance of love in return. There are not enough kind words to describe Michael Coppola. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet him knows just what an absolute sweetheart he was. He will be tremendously missed and memories of Michael will be forever cherished. 

Michael is predeceased by his sister Shara Coppola, his maternal grandparents, Anthony and Lillian Trovato, and his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Angelina Coppola. 

Surviving are his parents, Michael and Maria Coppola; his sister Alicia Coppola; his aunt and uncle, Diane and Timothy Jones; aunt Kathy Coppola-Miranda; uncle Anthony Trovato; his cousins Kimberly and Kara Jones, Jason Schwarz and Elizabeth Trovato; and his lifelong best friend Kathleen Steakin. 

A memorial gathering was held Aug. 21 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home in Middletown. A Mass was offered Aug. 22 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church in Keansburg. Interment followed at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
