
Michael J. Parulis Sr., 76, of Port Monmouth, passed away July 6. Michael was born Feb. 3, 1944 in Pittston, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Anna and George Parulis. He was raised in Pennsylvania, where he met his wife. After marrying, they lived in East Orange before settling in Port Monmouth in 1969 to raise their family.
Michael worked for Jacobson Manufacturers in Kenilworth as a tool and die maker. When he was not working, Mike spent time at the Middletown Elks Lodge 2179 where he was a longtime member and past Elk of the Year. He also belonged to the Goodfellows Social Club and the Garden State Rod and Gun Club. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed hunting with his boys and especially enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Beatrice Parulis, and their four children: daughter Sharon Parulis; son Michael Jr. and his wife Linda; son William “Billy” and his wife Dena; and son Mark and his wife Alexis. Michael also leaves behind his brother Francis Parulis, 11 beloved grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews and family, and lifelong friends, the McInnes family: Jim, Barbara, Randy, Laura, Dennis and David.
Friends and relatives paid their respects at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 10 at St. Catherine RC Church in Middletown. Burial and committal followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
