The K-8 school at 7 Hastings Place, which serves the district’s 300 students, was flooded with about 2-feet of water during the late October super storm that damaged the structure and ruined the electrical and heating systems. Furnishings, equipment, textbooks and records were destroying.
The cost to restore the location was estimated at approximately $2 million, Brian Farrell, the district’s superintendent, previously said.
With the school out of commission, students and staff had to use schools and office space in the Oceanport and West Long Branch public school districts with students being transported to and from the location.
“It’s been a challenging year,” Farrell said in April.
