During the month of October, six Red Bank Regional High School (RBR) students, four teachers and the athletic director competed to grow the best moustache in an event they coined “Stache-tober.” Pictures of the clean-shaven contestants were displayed in the school cafeteria. The RBR Key Club collected donations, with patrons choosing their favorite mustached man. More than $500 was raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a breast cancer charity.
Senior Jake Cullinane, Tinton Falls, was the big winner and had the honor of sporting the winner’s belt in the final photo before everyone sprinted for their shavers. Other participants included: RBR students Tyler Karalewich, Nick Paterson, Pat Quinn, Matt Raybon of Shrewsbury and Tyheem Crawford of Red Bank; teachers and coaches Mike Canning, Krishna Kanuga, Pat Tedeschi, Nick Tucker and Athletic Director Del DalPra.
