Patricia Anne Deickmann

Patricia Anne Deickmann, 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her side May 3, 2024. She was born Dec. 29, 1943, in West Orange to William Knehr and Thelma Churco. The family relocated to Middletown when Patricia was a child.

She attended Cumberland College in Tennessee and received her associate degree. After graduating, she met her husband, Frederick C. Deickmann and embarked on her journey as a devoted mother and homemaker.

Thrust into the position as the sole provider of the family after the loss of Fred to leukemia in 1983, Patricia, with boundless love and energy, worked to provide everything for her children. From running PTAs to shuttling to sports games and getting home-cooked meals on the table every night, she loved her kids endlessly.

Ever the caregiver, Pat eventually became a private aide, working at the Navesink House in Red Bank. She also volunteered at her beloved Lunch Break. She became famous for her pickles, breads and cookies, which she distributed routinely throughout Monmouth County to anyone lucky enough to cross her path. She was a ray of light and optimism who showed genuine affection and love to all. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, William and Thelma, and her beloved husband, Frederick C. Deickmann (1983).

She is survived by her sons, John (Tara) and Kevin (Carly), her daughter Cheryl (Joseph), her brother William (Peggy), and her adored grandchildren, Ryland Deickmann, Torren Deickmann, Shannon Frain, Tristyn Frain, Madelynn Deickmann and Morgan Deickmann.

Visitation was held May 7 at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A funeral Mass was held May 8 at St. James Church in Red Bank.

Please visit Patricia’s memorial website at johnedayfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family is kindly asking for memorial contributions to Lunch Break of Red Bank at lunchbreak.org.
