RED BANK – There’s a new market in the borough.
Juan Torres, owner and operator of Juanito’s Restaurant since 1994 and Juanito’s Bakery since 2001, has opened Juanito’s Market at 197 Shrewsbury Ave.
Torres has owned other small grocery stores — bodegas — in Red Bank but the new market has more than 4,000 square feet. It offers customers a seafood section, hot food section where customers can come get lunch and a cold drink, an extensive meat department as well as fresh produce, dairy and all grocery needs.
“We’ve been getting a lot of customers,” said Jennifer Durkhardt, the Junanito’s office manager. “It’s been busy since we opened.”
Torres is “really excited about the store,” Durkhardt said. Juanito’s Market opened in late June.
