LITTLE SILVER – Shane Fallon’s second chapter coaching varsity football has come to an end.  Fallon announced his retirement from coaching and teaching at Red Bank Regional following a four-year stint at the school where his father, George, was athletic director in the 1980s.

“After nearly 30 years in public education as a health and physical education teacher, athletic director and coach, I have made the decision to retire from public education and coaching effective July 1, 2025,” Fallon said in a statement. “I am looking forward to spending time with my family. I want to thank all of the student-athletes and assistant coaches who have had a huge impact on my career.”

Fallon made the Rumson-Fair Haven football team one of the Shore’s most consistent programs from 1998-2013, winning 106 games and starting a remarkable string of sectional titles. In 2010, RFH won its first section football title under Fallon, setting the foundation for the current program that captured its first overall state title in 2024 under Jeremy Schulte.

Following a five-year stint as Holmdel’s athletic director, Fallon returned to the sidelines in 2020 as Neptune’s head football coach, leading up to the end of his coaching tenure over the past four years at Red Bank Regional.

Fallon saw the Bucs go 7-4 in his second season in 2022 along with a 5-4 record last year as part of a 19-22 overall record. RBR reached the Group 4 state playoffs this past year losing to Millville in the opening round.
