Monmouth County residents have been stretching their legs the past two weeks, getting outside after weeks under a stay-at-home order as the weather warms and the sun makes sporadic appearances. In Atlantic Highlands, people enjoyed watching the boats set sail for a parade along the Shrewsbury River April 25.

Thompson Park in Lincroft and area beaches drew some crowds Saturday, May 2 as Gov. Phil Murphy reopened parks around the state. Most visitors tried to maintain social distancing guidelines which were monitored by park rangers and police. Many followed the recommendations to wear face coverings in public but the draw of fresh air proved too strong for some.
