Sandra Beth Sharp (née Robinson) passed away Jan. 30, 2026, in Dorado, Puerto Rico, at the age of 78.
She was born in Evanston, Illinois, and was raised in Fair Haven. She graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School in 1965. During her high school years, she was a cheerleader, a very talented field hockey player and a gymnast.
She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in modern and foreign languages from Mount Holyoke College. After her college graduation, she entered the teaching field and got her first job at Northfield Mount Hermon Prep School in Massachusetts. It was soon thereafter that she met her future husband, Thomas F. Sharp. They moved back to New Jersey, where they both taught at the Lawrenceville School. Sandra also taught Spanish at Princeton Day School, The Chapin School and Rider University. During this time, she also worked as a translator for the United Nations.
Sandra loved singing and was a member of the Trenton Choral Society. She also loved traveling and spending time at her home in Puerto Rico.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Ethel (Pat) Robinson, her husband Thomas Sharp, and her companion Dennis Goddard.
Sandra is survived by her brother William (Laurie) Robinson of Barnegat; three stepchildren, Libby Tilghman, Carolyn Sharp and James Sharp; niece Elizabeth (Jaryd) Banach; nephew Tim (Mallory) Robinson; four great-nieces and nephews and her good friend Kathy Boushie.
