Patricia Ann Standley, née Hotchkiss, age 84, died peacefully on Dec. 3, 2017 at her home in Red Bank. Patricia was born April 11, 1933 in Red Bank. She is the daughter of Harry E. Hotchkiss and Elizabeth Clapp McClintock.

Patricia was a lifelong communicant of the United Methodist Church in Red Bank. She graduated from TCNJ (formerly Trenton State College) in 1955 with an elementary teaching degree. She taught second grade for many years in Eatontown schools, as well as in Hinsdale, Illinois.

She was married to Dr. Robert D. Standley in 1959, and together they their raised two children, Susan and Doug, while living in Shrewsbury. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1994. She was very active in the community for many years, participating in Shrewsbury Historical Society, the Republican Club and as a scout leader.

Patricia was an avid reader and devoured books by the dozens. In addition, she was a Mets fan and would talk about baseball with everyone. She was also a huge Johnny Cash fan and loved spending time at the beach in her younger years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Susan and Jim Masco of Jackson; Douglas Standley and David Giuliano of Tinton Falls; two loving grandchildren, Sarah and Randy Masco; and a sister-in law, Barbara Hotchkiss, of Wheaton, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert M. Hotchkiss in 2009.

Arrangements were handled by Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Patricia was buried at the Shrewsbury Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 352 Sycamore Ave., Shrewsbury.
