It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Reddy, 71, of Middletown, announced his unexpected passing Nov. 6, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Stephen was born in Brooklyn; he moved to Middletown in 1980 where he resided with his family.

Stephen had many careers during his life. He was a commodities floor broker in New York City for many years, as well as an EMT, a first responder and a real estate broker. Stephan was also a dedicated volunteer with Fair View First Aid Squad for 25 years.

Stephan was a family man; he had a heart of gold and was great at giving advice. He had many friends and was a great storyteller. Anyone who crossed paths with him loved him. He always had a positive outlook on everything and always knew the right thing to say.

His wife Jacqueline was the love of his life and his three sons were his world. He was the best “Poppy” you could ever think of to his two granddaughters, who absolutely adored him. He touched so many lives and will be missed terribly.

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Jacqueline Reddy; his three sons, Gregg Reddy, Eric Reddy and Sean Reddy and his wife Aileen; his brother Michael Reddy and his wife Karen; his sister Deborah Attarian and her husband George; his sister-in-law MaryEllen Reddy; sister-in-law Jennifer Daily; brother-in-law Robert Christie and wife Laura; his grandchildren, Keira and Erin Reddy; his aunt Theresa White; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, William R. Reddy, and his parents, William and Lillian Reddy.

Visitation was held Nov. 11 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral Mass was offered Nov. 12 at St. Mary”s Church, Middletown. Burial followed at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Stephen’s name to Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), Tunnel to Tower Foundation (t2t.org), or the Fairview First Aid Squad (fairviewfirstaidsquad.org).
