Suzanne  Fisher  Dempsey, 83, formerly of Fair Haven and Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully April 19, 2023, in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Sue was born May 26, 1939, in Newark and was a graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Centenary University. After college she lived in New York City where she met and married her husband, James Dempsey. Together they raised their three children in Fair Haven. 

Sue and Jim retired to a golf course community in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2000 and, after Jim’s passing in 2003, Sue built a new life for herself surrounded by many dear friends. This past fall she moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to her family.

Always in good spirits, gracious and kind to all, Sue was a selfless wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She possessed boundless energy and loved entertaining and spending summers at Surfrider Beach Club in Sea Bright. Over the years Sue worked and volunteered in boutique gift shops and was known for her beautiful needlepoint creations. She also enjoyed traveling, taking many vacations and golf trips with her friends, and was an accomplished gardener. 

Sue is survived by her daughter Linda and her husband Craig of West Chester, Pennsylvania; her son Peter of Fanwood; her son Steven and his wife Tania of Armonk, New York; her nine grandchildren, Ryan, Kimberly, Trevor, Kira, Julia, Luke, Alexander, Jason and Claire; and her great-grandson Elliott.
