From Dresses to Sweats: Survivors Recall What They Wore
RED BANK – The bright, quiet room was lined with tall windows and filled with evenly spaced wire racks hung with a variety of outfits: Pajamas. A robe with “Bride” emblazoned on the back. Overalls. A slinky Halloween costume. Boxers and a T-shirt. A prom dress. Next to jeans and a sweat- shirt, a white placard read, “If this is helping someone to heal on this journey, it makes me happy to be able to participate.”

RED BANK – The Heartwarming Center, a facility for women in need of a warm place to sleep when the temperatures plummet, opened on Red Bank’s Maple Street last winter. On days and nights when the weather chills to 32 degrees or lower, the center opens its doors to women struggling with homelessness and insecure housing.
Monmouth County Launches Specialized Domestic Violence Unit
Domestic abuse, also called domestic violence or intimate partner violence, continues to profoundly affect lives across gender, age, religion and socio-economic status. Government and private agencies across the country and locally are optimistic in their efforts to put an end to the violence but change can only be possible if the victim seeks solutions. A new investigative unit within the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office hopes to help victims and curb domestic violence on the county level.
