RED BANK – Ninety-nine years ago, on Nov. 11, 1926, a movie theater opened its doors at 99 Monmouth St. Over the decades, it has served as a beacon of entertainment for Red Bank and the greater Monmouth County community.

To keep the summer revenue breezing into fall, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners, tourism partners and local officials kicked off the fall 2023 tourism season at a press conference Sept. 19 at the Count Basie Center for the Arts.

On Sunday, April 30 at 7 p.m., The Count Basie Center for the Arts/Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre will host “Ancient Aliens LIVE: Project Earth,” an experiential extension of the TV show “Ancient Aliens’” that explores the theory that extraterrestrials have visited Earth for millions of years.

In July the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners approved two resolutions that granted over $24 million dollars in federal aid money to 93 county nonprofit organizations. The awards came through the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) COVID-19 Community Recovery Grant Program.
