Until Netflix begins building its planned production facility on Fort Monmouth’s Mega Parcel, someone has to mow the grass.

Final negotiations are underway with three potential tenants seeking to be first into the new retail center rising along Oceanport Avenue on Fort Monmouth, according to the property’s owner. 

A hotel, helipad, attractions, a visitor center and retail components are all allowed on the 292-acre Mega Parcel on track to become Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth.

Monmouth Medical Center, Inc., an affiliate of Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health (RWJBH), closed on the purchase of the 36-acre former Fort Monmouth Myer Center property Dec. 16 at a purchase price of $7,256,660.

During its final meeting of the year last night, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) was poised to vote on a Purchase and Sale & Redevelopment Agreement (PSARA) with Netflix for the fort’s 292-acre Mega Parcel in Eatontown and Oceanport.
