Mega Parcel Bids Will Be Opened June 6

At approximately 12:30 p.m. June 6, bid proposals to redevelop over 290 acres – most of the remaining unsold property on the former Fort Monmouth known as the Mega Parcel – will be opened by staff of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA). While the names of the bidding entities will be made public, little else will be known about what those proposals contain for months.

FMERA Holds First In-Person Meeting In Over Two Years

At the first in-person meeting of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) in 26 months, the chairman’s seat was left vacant in honor of the late Robert Lucky of Fair Haven, who passed away March 10 at 86 while serving in that role.

Fort Monmouth Nurses Quarters Setbacks Under Review

The governing bodies of Eatontown, Oceanport and Tinton Falls have 45 days to review and comment on an amendment to the developer’s plan for setbacks for the redevelopment project at the fort’s former Nurses Quarters along Main Street. 

Bob Lucky: Inventing the Future

A pioneer in technology and engineering, Robert W. "Bob" Lucky garnered myriad international recognitions and awards over six decades, including the coveted Marconi Prize. He was instrumental in the development of a plan for the former Fort Monmouth. Lucky died March 10, 2022 at age 86.

Personnel Changes Lead Fort Monmouth News

Tributes to the late Robert “Bob” Lucky, Ph.D., took precedence at the monthly meeting of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA), held via teleconference March 16. Lucky, 86, the agency’s chairman, died March 10 at home. 

Expanded Fort Monmouth Mega Parcel Released for Bidding

The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority reissued its Request for Offers to Purchase the 292-acre site known as the Mega Parcel, located within the boroughs of Eatontown and Oceanport on the former U.S. Army base. Responses are due by noon June 6.

RWJBH’s Fort Monmouth Vogel Campus Approved For Larger Square Footage

FORT MONMOUTH – Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health (RWJBH), has requested and received square footage increases for its planned state-of-the-art Vogel Medical Campus on about 38 acres of the former Fort Monmouth in Tinton Falls. The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) unanimously approved the changes at its monthly meeting Feb. 16. 

Residential Redevelopment on Former Fort Monmouth Nears Completion, Commercial Portion Delayed

TINTON FALLS – The 40-acre Patriot’s Square residential development located opposite the township’s municipal complex on Kelly Way and across Tinton Avenue from Monmouth Regional High School is nearing completion, but the commercial component has been delayed by economic and pandemic-related concerns.
