HOLMDEL – DePalma Farms is expected to stay in the hands of its founding family, at least for the next five years, under a new lease conditionally awarded by the township committee.

HOLMDEL – Patrick DePalma’s hands show the years of tilling Holmdel farmland that has been in his family for more than four generations – farmland that now faces an uncertain future.

RED BANK – The borough council has approved a lease extension with the Red Bank Board of Education (BOE) for Count Basie Fields and Park. The agreement, unanimously approved at the March 27 council meeting, extends municipal use of the BOE-owned park through Dec. 31, 2050, a move that secures long-term funding for community recreational improvements.

Could Two River-area municipalities grow a little bit richer, financially or culturally? A bill intended to revitalize coastal towns in Monmouth and Ocean counties just passed the state Senate, possibly making properties more attractive to investors.

The Belford Landfill may be useful once more.
