The election lawsuit that left the future of the borough’s leadership uncertain came to a surprising end this week. Current Atlantic Highlands Mayor Lori Hohenleitner’s position was confirmed when the suit was withdrawn.

In a key development in the lawsuit challenging the results of November’s borough elections, the complaint against newly elected council member Alyson Forbes was struck down. Forbes will remain in her seat.

RED BANK – It was a choice between a pause or a cause for incumbent Mayor Billy Portman and he has chosen the latter: After a 3-month “crash course” in running the borough, Portman is seeking a full term in the upcoming May 9 elections.
