RED BANK – As the beach tan starts to fade, county officials are gearing up for an autumn lineup worth falling for following a record-breaking summer that brought in $32 million in beach revenue from shore towns in Monmouth County.

As America’s 250th anniversary approaches, Monmouth County has a lot to celebrate. And the county is encouraging its municipalities to contribute to the semiquincentennial year festivities. With less than a year left until July 4, 2026, many towns have already begun outlining the events they will host to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia in 1776.

MONMOUTH COUNTY – “Happy Gilmore 2,” the long-awaited sequel to Adam Sandler’s iconic golf comedy, was released on Netflix July 25, and Monmouth County played a significant role in bringing the blockbuster to life.

MIDDLETOWN – The Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division conducted a community-wide adult mosquito control operation in sections of Middletown Township this week after mosquitoes collected locally tested positive for West Nile virus.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The Monmouth County Fair is turning 50 this summer, and organizers are planning a golden jubilee celebration packed with thrills, entertainment and old-fashioned fun.

MONMOUTH COUNTY – Early voting – in-person and by mail – is now underway in Monmouth County for the June 10 primary election, with a longer voting window in place due to new state legislation. The county announced that early voting, which began Tuesday, June 3, will run through Sunday, June 8.

LINCROFT – On April 10, Brookdale Community College welcomed mayors and local officials from the greater Monmouth County area to its inaugural President’s Summit of Monmouth Mayors, a signature event celebrating New Jersey Local Government Week and National Community College Month.

MONMOUTH COUNTY – Whether new to boating or seasoned on the water, county environmental health officials have urged all boaters in the Two River area to follow the state’s marine sanitation regulations to help protect the waterways while enjoying water activities this season.
