Rapid redevelopment and climate uncertainties headlined talk all around New Jersey last year. Yet, an abundance of natural resources, such as wooded preserves and a thriving Jersey Shore, as well as unique downtowns, the proximity to New York City and strong economic cores continue to enrich the Two River area.

A million-dollar state grant received by the borough in 2019 that fueled plans to improve Shrewsbury Avenue is now set for a 2025 completion. Preliminary site plans of the project were on display for public review and comment at a two-hour walk-in session held at the borough’s senior center Nov. 20.

FORT MONMOUTH – The penultimate draft of the Request for Offers to Purchase 290 acres of Fort Monmouth termed the “Mega Parcel” is nearing final bureaucratic review. Officials said the document should appear under “Bidding Opportunities” on the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) website later this month.
