One campaign strategy has some Monmouth County voters confused.

At a time when the political climate appears its most divisive, one local politician has demonstrated the power of bipartisan collaboration.

Atlantic Highlands Democrats hosted its official 2023 campaign kickoff, announcing the candidacy of Lori Hohenleitner for mayor, the reelection campaign of council member Jon Crowley, and the first run for council by newcomer Alyson Forbes.

Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver died Tuesday, Aug. 1. The 71-year-old was admitted to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston on Monday for an undisclosed medical issue.

Current Atlantic Highlands Mayor Loretta Gluckstein, a Republican, is not running for reelection. She presides over a heavily Democratic council, with Murphy the lone Republican.

As the results from Red Bank’s first nonpartisan election were tallied, it appears incumbent Mayor Billy Portman is here to stay.
