RED BANK – Over the past five years, a surge in development in Red Bank has left officials and residents dealing with a changing landscape as they seek a balance between growth and preservation in the wake of state-mandated affordable housing obligations.

MIDDLETOWN – This week, multiple projects edged closer to completion as the township committee awarded a major construction contract, passed a multimillion-dollar bond ordinance and greenlit an open space grant application.

RED BANK – From the borough’s riverfront to its streetscapes, green spaces to manholes, residents are about to feel and see capital projects unfold all around them.

This year’s reorganization meeting featured returning faces on the dais, the election of a new council president and an exciting project update.

Monmouth County is known for its green space and two towns are about to get greener: A 62.5-acre forested parcel will be preserved and turned into the newest county park in Holmdel while Rumson has received a grant to renovate Meadow Ridge Park.

A design firm under contract with the borough since 2017 delivered a presentation to the council Monday night about ongoing waterfront access projects. The presentation focused on a “pocket park” at the end of Hance Road, bulkhead replacement at Grange Avenue and boat ramp replacement at the end of Battin Road.
