FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP – The final high school soccer game of the season in New Jersey saw Shore Regional hoist the trophy and a special celebration at Franklin High School.

HOLMDEL – Not every runner in their career could say they were crowned state champion.

It used to be section finals were the end of the road for public high school football teams. But in year four of true state championships, trophies are handed out for section titles before teams need two more wins for the coveted state title trophy.

The non-public brackets are out and it’s time to begin the road to MetLife Stadium. Red Bank Catholic and St. John Vianney both earned home games for the opening round.

2021 Shore Regional graduate Jack Yonezuka was flying under the radar during his high school career at a school that is passionate about sports.

A lot of people pointed to RBC’s fourth game against Middletown South as the first big test for the Caseys this season. Coach Mike Lange’s team passed with flying colors in a 35-0 win at the Swamp in Middletown.

The summer prior to her junior year at Red Bank Catholic high school, Katie Esposito remembered a promise she made to her younger brother Jack who died two years before – and to herself: Keep Jack’s memory alive.
