Theodore J. Stieve, 92, of Tinton Falls, passed away Jan. 14, 2021. Theodore was born Sept. 19, 1928, to Theodore and Marie Stieve of Milburn. He attended Millburn Public Schools, followed by Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Theodore served his country as a member of the United States Navy. 

Ted married Lois Ann Markey Oct. 9, 1954, and moved to Hazlet. There he served six years on the Hazlet Board of Education, three of those years as president. He moved to Fair Haven in 1967 where he lived for nearly 50 years. Ted served on the board of directors of the Red Bank YMCA. He was president and held a seat on the board of directors for both The ARC of Monmouth and The ARC of New Jersey. He held a seat on the board of directors of Camp Jaycee. Ted was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time and sharing in activities with the Briody Brunch of Rumson.

Ted began his business career with Union Carbide and the American Oxygen Company before starting Weldon Inc., a metal fabrication company in Clark from which he retired.

Ted is survived by Lois, his wife 66 years, and three daughters and sons-in-law: Annemarie and Thomas Stewart of St. Petersburg, Florida; Katherine (Kim) and David Plough of Portola Valley, California; and Allison and Edmond Acquaviva of Oakhurst. Ted had three grandchildren whom he adored and enjoyed spending time with: Avery Plough, Kelsey Plough and Edmond T. Acquaviva. Ted had three brothers, Richard Stieve of Springfield, and John and Robert Stieve who have predeceased him. He will be sorely missed by his brother-in-law and best friend John S. Hall of Linwood and numerous nieces and nephews of whom he was very fond. 

Due to the ongoing pandemic, a service in his memory will not be held at this time. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a time where family and friends can travel and attend safely.
