RED BANK – Bobby Bandiera & Friends return to the Count Basie Theatre at 8 p.m. Dec. 22, for Hope Concert VII, slated this year to benefit Horizons and the Count Basie Theatre’s arts education and outreach programs.
Tickets, priced from $50 to $500, go on sale to the general public noon Friday, Oct. 3, at www.countbasietheatre.org, theater phone charge at 732-842-9000 and the Basie box office, located onsite at 99 Monmouth St.
“The history and legacy of the Hope concerts is legendary,” said Adam Philipson, Count Basie Theatre president and CEO. “On six different occasions, Hope has gone down as a gathering of the area’s very best musicians, raising money and awareness for causes that benefit and better our community. We’re honored that Bobby has chosen the theater as one of those beneficiaries this year.”
“I look forward to the Hope concert every year,” said Maggie Riker, president of the Horizons Advisory Board. “This year the concert is even more special to me with the proceeds benefitting area children through the educational outreach programs made possible by Horizons and the Basie. I am thankful for Bobby Bandiera and his talented band, and all of the audience members for their generosity to these programs, which help our local children meet their full potential.”
Bandiera recently told the theater’s Showtime publication, “Being in a community – one that I feel is a good community, so many people contribute in their own way. I like to help out as much as I can, with anything that may need the attention of a benefit. Whether it be (past Hope beneficiaries) the Parker Clinic, ALS awareness, the Cancer Institute … this time around, we have two more worthy candidates in need of funding and awareness.”
