RED BANK – Monmouth Day Care Center (MDCC) will host its fifth annual Touch-a-Truck “fun-raiser” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Red Bank Middle School, 101 Harding Road.
Ambulances, fire engines, dump trucks and other construction equipment will be displayed in the middle school parking lot, where kids will get a closer look at the vehicles they love to see in their neighborhoods every day. Children are encouraged to explore the vehicles in a safe environment while the owners and operators are on hand to describe how the vehicles work and what kind of jobs they do.
“Every kid stops and watches when a police car or fire engine races by. This event gives them a chance to get to know these vehicles and the men and women who work with them, while contributing to a good cause,” said Heidi Zaentz, MDCC’s executive director.
In addition to the vehicles on display, the entrance fee includes crafts, games and music. Food vendors will be on site, and a 50-50 raffle will be held.
Tickets are $12 for a family of four, if purchased in advance, and $15 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the website www.monmouthdaycarecenter1969.org.
The event is sponsored by B & A Quick Lube and Auto Repair, Ron’s Five Star Cleaning, The Pressler Group, Karson Food Service Inc., DeFazio’s Lawn Service, Joan Pruzick, GRI, CRS, Shore Pediatric Dental Group, Ink’d Up Tattoos and Head Over Heels Gymnastics.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Monmouth Day Care Center, a nonprofit serving families seeking quality childcare without regard to race, religion, ethnicity or economic status. MDCC is celebrating its 45th anniversary of providing early childhood program to the children of the greater Red Bank community.
