HOLMDEL – Last year VNA Health Group entered into a definitive agreement with BAYADA Home Health Care that would have resulted in the joining of the two nonprofit mission-driven organizations.

“Since last August however, our world has changed, especially in the last several months as we have been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Steve Landers, M.D., MPH, president and CEO of VNA Health Group, said in a press release. “The action of our dedicated staff in response to the crisis has been truly heroic and as a result, our focus has shifted as an organization – we have grown stronger together as people, a company, a community and as a solution to so many of those in need during these very difficult times.”

According to Landers, because of these changes, both VNA and BAYADA have mutually decided to not move forward with the anticipated partnership. “The decision to terminate the transaction was amicable and we remain a friend and supporter of BAYADA,” said Landers.

VNAHG has been providing high-quality, compassionate care for 108 years. In the last few months they have been focused on protecting staff and patients through access to high quality Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) aggressive COVID-19 testing, new employee health programs and resources and massive infection control education initiatives. They have been able to remain open to serve those in need through its home health, hospice, visiting physician and palliative services, caring for COVID-19 patients, while serving as a resource and safety valve for addressing hospital bed capacity for its partner health systems.
