RED BANK – On the Shrewsbury and Navesink rivers, August means the return of the Junior Sweepstakes. Nearly 90 kids ages 8 and older from six boating clubs around the Two River area took part in the four-day sailing event to hone their sailing skills. Younger sailors used Optis and older ones used 420s. Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club held the first two days on the Shrewsbury River with the Monmouth Boating Club hosting the final two days on the Navesink River. There were 10 races overall with instructors providing tips, feedback and motivation.
