CBA Students Inducted into Liturgical Ministries

LINCROFT – A total of 82 students were inducted into various liturgical ministries during the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Sept. 5 at Christian Brothers Academy.
CBA students and faculty are invited to serve the community as altar servers, readers, hospitality ministers, sacred musicians, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Applicants are asked to present themselves as candidates for these ministries in May – or in the case of incoming freshman, over the summer – and those selected are confirmed and blessed at the Mass of the Holy Spirit to serve through that school year.
Each ministry is moderated by a member of the faculty, who schedules the students, instructs them in the proper manner of serving and encourages them to grow in the knowledge and love of God.
“I think it means a great deal to be a minister to your fellow students at CBA,” said Frederick DiBrienza, teacher of religious studies and mentor to the Eucharistic ministers. “You are publicly demonstrating and participating in your faith to your fellow students which is a great sign of Christ’s presence on campus. Every year the Lord blesses us with young men that are willing and eager to not just come to Mass, but participate in their faith and grow in their relationships with Christ.”
