OCEANPORT – Netflix has begun hiring for its planned East Coast film production studio at the former Fort Monmouth campus, marking an early step in the company’s almost $1 billion redevelopment of the nearly 300-acre site.

OCEANPORT – The rise of New Jersey as “Hollywood East,” cemented last month with Netflix’s official closing on the Fort Monmouth Mega Parcel, was celebrated Monday by top company leaders and state and local government officials.

OCEANPORT – The mystery of Netflix’s plans for 79.3 acres of Fort Monmouth known as the “400 Area” was solved when the company’s representatives gained approval from the Oceanport Borough Planning Board last week. 

Close to 90 structures on the former U.S. Army base are meeting the wrecking ball to make way for Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth.

EATONTOWN – Last week’s unanimous approval by the Eatontown Planning Board means Netflix can proceed with the largest portion of its planned production studio on Fort Monmouth.

FORT MONMOUTH – This fall, Netflix representatives will present the firm’s next round of plans for Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth to Eatontown and Oceanport officials in pursuit of approvals to construct a 12-soundstage production complex on 292 acres of the former U.S. Army base.

EATONTOWN – Netflix will bring a team of professionals to the Eatontown Planning Board at 7 p.m. on successive Mondays, Aug. 4 and 11, for a two-part presentation of its plans for Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth.

OCEANPORT – A national bookrecycling initiative, BookDrop, is giving thousands of unwanted books a second life, saving them from landfills, fueling library sales and supporting charities at home and abroad.

OCEANPORT – On Sunday afternoon, motorists found they had to share the road with an unusual mode of transportation, as a horse from Monmouth Park bolted from the facility and headed down Route 36.
