ASBURY PARK – For the recent fourth annual Asbury Park Mardi Gras celebration, organizer and local business owner Cindy Ciullo teamed up with Wag On Inn Rescue for the inaugural “Mardi Paws” parade. Inspired by the Mystic Krewe of Barkus dog parade in New Orleans, canines and their owners dressed up in Mardi Gras flair and paraded down Cookman Avenue as their costumes were judged. All proceeds from the parade went to Wag On Inn Rescue, a volunteer group dedicated to finding new families for homeless dogs and cats.
