First Doses of COVID Vaccine Administered at Riverview

RED BANK – There was an encouraging air of optimism Friday morning at Riverview Medical Center as some of its first doctors received Pfizer’s vaccine for COVID-19.

The shipment came later in the day Thursday off a courier truck from Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and Riverview staff got right to work preparing the vaccinations for use the following morning.

“It’s so exciting. It’s history in the making and how blessed are we that we’re at a time that this is available to us,” said Ann Riso, director of pharmacy at Riverview.
