The Stars and Stripes are fluttering in the breeze across the Two River area in anticipation of the Fourth of July weekend. Whether a large, solitary Old Glory, a row of tiny flags, draped and flowing bunting or a ribbon of red, white and blue, decorations around the towns are getting people in the celebratory spirit. But as with most events this year, 2020’s Independence Day festivities will be low-key affairs because of continuing COVID-19 restrictions. While the traditional spectacular fireworks over the Navesink River will be on display July 3, there is no accompanying family fun event and spectators who do venture out to view the show are asked to observe social distancing guidelines.
