Lawrence “Larry” Caravella, 62, of Middletown, passed away peacefully Aug. 16, 2021. Larry was born in Brooklyn, New York. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980. Larry was an elevator mechanic with P.S. Marcato Elevator, Inc. for 40 years and parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Red Bank. 

Larry was a loving father, a devoted husband, a caring son and the best brother. He loved to spend time at the beach, work around the house, and always said yes to a homecooked meal. The time he cherished most was spent with his family.

He was predeceased by his mother Margaret M. (Costello) Smith and his brother Skip Smith.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Anne (DiComo) Caravella; his three daughters, Nicole Caravella Pagano and her husband Anthony Jr., Danielle Caravella and Michelle Caravella; two brothers, Tommy Smith and his wife Kathleen, and James Caravella and his wife Natasha; two sisters, Joyce Katzman and her husband Mel and Kathleen Soto and her husband Joseph; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

There was a memorial gathering Aug. 20 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A memorial Mass was held Aug. 21 at St. James Church in Red Bank. Interment immediately followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
