RUMSON – The wearin’ of the green and things Irish will be celebrated on Sunday when the Rumson’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off at 1 p.m
The parade will begin at Victory Park and end at Piping Rock Memorial Park, a march of about 1-mile long. In between crowds will be entertained by bands, bagpipers, floats, civic and Scout groups and antique cars. Peter Dawkin’s is the grand marshall for this year’s parade, which is the second annual.
Marchers are hoping for a bright sunny warm day. Right now forecasters are calling for a party cloudy day with temperatures about 42 degrees.
Daylight saving begins early Sunday morning so remember to set your clocks ahead.
The parade is the second in the area with the Belmar parade having been march on Sunday, March 2. Asbury Park’s is slated or this coming Sunday.
For those hoping for warmer temperatures all together – and after this winter, who isn’t? – spring is set to arrive at 12:57 p.m. Thursday, March 20.
