Rose Schroeder, 97, of Leonardo, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on her birthday, May 26. She was born in New York City and lived in Leonardo since 1955. Rose worked as a bookkeeper for many years before she retired. Her enthusiasm and love of life made those around her smile. Above all else, she loved her family and will always be cherished and greatly missed.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Cheryl Schroeder; daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Michael Slover; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Taras Kiceniuk and their family of California; grandchildren, Jennifer and Thomas Butler, Michael D. and Dana Slover, Robyn and Stephen Bagnetto; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Sean and Jack Butler, Abigail and Sophie Slover and Michael and Robert Bagnetto.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Alfons H. Schroeder in 1996, as well as her parents, August and Johanna Geder and sister, Helen Dorner.
Visitation was held May 30 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were May 31 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
