Shore Regional has been the gold standard for high school field hockey for decades which puts lofty expectations on them year in and year out. The Blue Devils won the program’s 16th state championship following a 3-1 win over Haddonfield Nov. 9 at Bordentown High School.

Once again, Lily Santi was the catalyst for the Blue Devils scoring all three goals. Carly Cole assisted on two goals and Ryan Malfa had the other assist.

Shore has the fourth most state titles in New Jersey history. Nancy Williams retired in 2014 after becoming the winningest coach in high school field hockey with 13 state titles. Kelly Koenig, who played for Williams and was an assistant for seven years, has continued the high standard of Shore Regional field hockey. Koenig now has three state titles and has already eclipsed the 100-win mark in her coaching career.

Lily Santi scored the lone goal in Shore Regional’s 3-1 loss to Clearview in the Tournament of Champions Monday night. It closed out a tremendous high school career:

Lily was named one of the top 50 college recruits in the nation by Max Field Hockey and will take her talents to Philadelphia after signing a national letter of intent to play at St. Joseph’s University.
