MIDDLETOWN – Tucked away off Red Hill Road lies Deep Cut Gardens, a Monmouth County Park System natural wonder dedicated to the home gardener. It boasts 54 acres of gardens and greenhouses designed with something for every season, including over 50 varieties of roses, foliage, trees and a lily pond filled with koi. The gardens are open year-round from 8 a.m. to dusk and feature strategically placed benches for enjoying the surroundings. Every spring the tulips bloom; in summer the roses blossom; in fall the leaves start to change; and in winter the greenhouse is full of cacti and other plants. Throughout the year the library is open to the public for garden research. Up next: The Great Spring Perennial Plant Swap taking place Saturday, May 4. For more information, call 732-671-6050.
