The sound of construction work may accompany children’s squeals in some borough parks soon as significant improvement projects get underway this year.

The man widely regarded as the father of American landscape architecture – Frederick Law Olmsted – has legendary ties to Rumson. And now two occasions will honor the man who co-designed both the grounds of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and Central Park in New York City, among many other high-profile urban parks.

Create a rain garden dedicated to managing runoff from lawns – as well as impervious surfaces, that will slowly seep into the ground instead of running into the waterways.
