RED BANK – Red Bank officials took another step toward a possible Riverwalk – a public walkway – along the Navesink River, unanimously designating two parcels along the river as areas “in need of rehabilitation” at the latest council meeting.

MIDDLETOWN – Residents in the Campbell’s Junction section of the township are hoping to preserve the historic character of their neighborhood while also upgrading it, after the planning board voted unanimously Wednesday to accept a report citing many of its properties as eligible for a redevelopment designation.

TINTON FALLS – The new Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health/ Monmouth Medical Center building under construction in the Tinton Falls section of Fort Monmouth is expected to be completed by December 2026. Last Wednesday, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) unanimously approved the second phase of the complex.

RED BANK – The borough council approved the train station redevelopment plan last Thursday, advancing the pre-pandemic goals of transit-oriented housing consistent with the borough’s Master Plan.

RED BANK – The borough’s planning board voted to approve a scaled-down version of the mixed-use train station redevelopment plan at its June 11 meeting, once again coming face-to- face with both hope and hesitation from the public about affordable housing, traffic and community character.

HIGHLANDS – The Highlands Borough Council recently designated two firms as conditional redevelopers for two projects.

RED BANK - Plans to redevelop the borough’s train station area include no more than 400 residential units, 900 parking spaces and 50,000 square feet of retail space, alongside traffic-calming measures, pedestrian-only streets and significant green spaces.

HIGHLANDS – The Captain’s Cove Marina is currently under scrutiny by the borough council, which claims the marina has failed to fulfill promised repairs. However, the owner contends that the situation is more complex than it appears.

The township committee has been navigating the complex interplay between development and conservation as it moves forward with two significant projects: the preservation of Potter’s Farm and the redevelopment of the former Vonage headquarters.

Brimming with ideas and concerns over potential plans for redevelopment of the train station area, more than 60 residents attended a public workshop hosted by borough officials at the senior center July 31.
