Thomas Webster Matchett Jr., retired former chief financial officer of Schwab Capital Markets, died Jan. 31, 2021. He was a graduate of Lawrence College, Appleton, Wisconsin, and Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management where he earned an MBA. He also served in the U.S. Army in Munich, Germany, from 1966 to 1968.
He was the son of Web and Jean Louise “Bunny” Matchett, both deceased, of Oak Park, Illinois. His sister, Holly Giles, of Reno, Nevada, and Anacortes, Washington, survives him.
He was the husband of Lucy B. Matchett who also survives him. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in September 2020. He is also survived by his three children and their spouses: Thomas W. III (Ann), Scott C. (Nadine) and Hillary T. (Chris); and four grandchildren: Heidi and Bodie Matchett of Rumson and Grady and Dane Sandleitner of Delray Beach, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to a charity of your choice. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
