Traffic Stop Leads to Heroin Arrest

MIDDLETOWN _ Patrolman Darrin Simon stopped a 2010 silver Toyota Corolla on Leonardville Rd. for various traffic violations on November 7 at approximately 3:40 p.m..
The driver who was identified as Tracy Montalvo, age 40 from Everett St. in Toms River, had a suspended driver’s license and there was a warrant issued for his arrest for failure to appear in court. The driver was also found to be in possession of 50 packets of a white powdery substance suspected to be heroin and hypodermic needles. The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Alison Montalvo, age 29, from Everett St. in Toms River was also in possession hypodermic needles.
Tracy Montalvo was arrested by Patrolman Simon and charged with Possession of heroin, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 feet of a school, Possession with intent to distribute, and Possession of Hypodermic Needles, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and related motor vehicle charges. Bail was set at $ 30,000 and he was remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail.
The passenger, Alison Montalvo, was also arrested by Patrolman Simon, and charged with Possession of Hypodermic Needles. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.
